Women’s Soccer Signs Four for 2025

WILMINGTON, North Carolina – UNCW women’s soccer Head Coach Chris Neal has announced the addition of four student-athletes to the Seahawk program for the 2025 season.

Elise Larimer

Position: Forward
Height: 5-5
Hometown: Cornelius, N.C.
High School: William A. Hough High School
Club Team: Charlotte Independence ECNL

Highlights: Has scored six goals with four assists in current season with Charlotte Independence ECNL … participated in numerous ECNL showcases across North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, New Jersey, Tennessee and Texas … Four-year player at the NCFC Showcase from 2019-24 … played in the 2023 ECNL Playoffs as well as the Jefferson Cup in 2021 and 2022.

Coach Neal Says: “Culturally, Elise is a soccer junkie. Her love of the game is evident in her game.  She plays with a competitive bite and her ball-striking ability is elite. She will provide a big boost on set pieces and in shooting situations from the top of the penalty box.”


Grace Maynard

Position: Defense
Height: 5-7
Hometown: Belmont, N.C.
High School: South Point High School
Club Team: Charlotte Independence ECNL

Highlights: Played every minute of the season at South Point with five goals and two assists … named to the NCSCA All-State and All-Region 3A Teams … selected to the All-Observer First Team … started every game of CISC ECNL 07 league …. Participated in 2022 ECNL Tennessee, 2023 ECNL New Jersey, 2023 ECNL Tennessee, 2024 ECNL Florida and 2024 ECNL North Carolina Showcases.

Coach Neal Says: “Grace is strong athlete and is as tough as they come. She is an honorable, no-nonsense defender, that is also comfortable playing out of the back. You can count on Grace when things get stressful in front of goal.”


Holly Murphy

Position: Forward/Midfielder
Height: 5-2
Hometown: McLean, Va.
High School: Langley High School
Club Team: Fairfax, Va. Union ECNL

Highlights: Scored 10 goals with five assists in most recent high school season at Langley … earned All-District Honorable Mention accolades as a freshman before ascending to the Second and First All-District Teams as a sophomore and junior, respectively … three-time ENCL Champions League winner … father, Terry, played soccer at the University of Mary Washington

Coach Neal Says: “Holly is a three-time ECNL Mid-Atlantic conference champion. She has played at a level that will allow her to transition well to the CAA. She is a dynamic 1-on-1 dribbler who can create her own space to cross, pass, or shoot. I am excited to see the impact she can have on our attack.”


Emily Degnan

Position: Forward/Midfielder
Height: 5-5
Hometown: Apex, N.C.
High School: Apex High School
Club Team: Jordan Lake FC

Highlights: Three-time All-Region and All-Conference Player at Apex High School … named Most Valuable Player as well as the Conference Player of the Year … scored 44 goals along with 28 assists over sophomore and junior seasons … netted 14 goals with eight assists for Jordan Lake FC … participated in Jefferson Cup, NCFC Showcase and Disney Showcase … also ran indoor track.

Coach Neal Says: “Emily has electric pace. She has experience scoring goals, at a variety of levels, and was voted player-of-the-year in her high school conference. Her ability to get faced-up quickly and run at players, is an area we are excited to add to our arsenal.”
